Monetizing your Blog Carefully
This one is one of the simplest posts that I have made till now just because you need to tell whether the add-on thing you are going to perform in your website/blog will increase your performance or not. This is why I wrote this post about monetization of your blog properly. Big Bloggers like John Chow, Shoemoney and others do have their custom themes which supports their advertisements placing. It is them to decide which advertisement they need to run and how much they will earn per advertisements. They also earn through the affiliate links provided in the posts and sidebar or Banners.
Just looking into likes of John Chow, he got a theme designed from UBD and made full use of the particular theme. He is using each and every bit of the theme in order to get full available monetization from his blog. Just look at the blog of John Chow what will you get ?
Answer is this
- Stripes Advertisement ($250 Each month 5 links)
- 468 X60 Banner @ $1000 Each month 3 Available
- 7 Affiliate Links (Providing at least $200 Each month)
- 8 125 Premium Banners ($500 Each Banner 8 Available)
- 300X250 Banners ($500 Each month 10 Available)
- Featured Links ($240 Each month 15 or so Available)
- Post level text Ads and Feed Ads ($200 Each month 5 Available)
- Blog Reviews @ $450 Each at least 10 available.
This is just the private Sales and this comes out to be more than $18,000 and for the likes of John Chow it is very much important to get this much of advertisement Income as he has to support his blog from so much visitors that comment and come to him daily. According to his December Income Report the original John Chow’s words are “Blog traffic for December was 244,164 page views from 130,587 unique visitors according to Google Analytics” and this page views earned him a whooping $25,040.36.
My Point here is just to tell you that when you want to earn a 5 Figure income from you blog or website you need to take note of the following things which I will call as a earner tips.
- A Brand Image (John Chow is a Brand Remember this)
- Nice Looking Header and a theme (For Wordpress Blogs and other blogs, for websites get it done according to the style)
- Full utilization of Ad Space (Do not fill in your website with banner Ads or any advertisements.)
- Make sure you submit to some Social Networking websites.
- Do ping all the blog pinging services( Be Careful, as excessive Pinging might ban your from those sites).
- Advertise your blog/ website using Contextual Ads , Banner Ads and as of now you can also advertise on Entrecard (Remember I am running a Contest for Entrecards Each Week).
The above details are only from one Blog who has made his earnings public but there are many other blogs who are making their earnings each month public. The above was only a single case study and now take note of a Not-So-Popular blog who has made itself just opposite to JohnChow.com and the blog’s Name is NotJohnChow.com .
Really I am not mocking or making fun of that person running NotJohnChow.com but a fact is a fact.He is not following my 6 earner tips. Looking at his blog what makes me sick is his desire to earn quickly. He is using each and every network available on his blog and the blog itself looks as cluttered (Really My blog is also the same but still decent than his.)Just have a look at his December Earnings report and he earned a Whooping $3.03 for the month of December which he tells that is earned from 2268 page views from 849 visitors according to Google Analytics, his ECPM is $1.3 while of John Chow is $102 for December.
Totally he is using all his blog to advertise on his blog but he does not know that the blogger’s today are smart and they do not click on affiliate links unless it is given by John Chow to them. Same way when I began my Blogging career sometime back I used to fill in my pages with Adsense and many other networks and used to rotate the advertisements using the PHPAds (Open Ads Now) but the result was no-one seemed to be interested in my blogs and then as I began blogging I got some traffic and then all traffic was gone.As of now that particular blog is doing nothing sitting idle.
The biggest mistakes which bloggers do when they begin their Internet Marketing Career are like this
- Blog on Various Niches (Totally Irrelevant)
- As soon as three initial months are over they get involved in PPP type of things(Still to come a post on that) .
- They do not advertise their blogs.
- Social Media Submission is very much important to new bloggers.(My Last two topics were stumbled and it resulted in 394 unique visits from Stumble upon itself and other social media networks resulted in around 200 Uniques ).
- Posting irregularly (Posting irregularly makes the visitor go away).
- Fill in total Space with Irrelevant Advertisements which results in total loss.
- Do not optimize their blog for SEO, which is vital for search Engines.
These are some of the important facts that make your Income irregular on your blog but from the first month if you want to earn like a Three or Four figure blogger then you will have to stick to the above mentioned earner tips.
Last but not the least I do not know how I wrote so much about this topic but still those who want to share their thoughts can post their views and remember to drop your Entrecard here so that you are eligible for 50 Entrecards on January 14th 00:00 hours.
