What I am talking about is Google Analytics code available freely from Google , but for that you need to have a Google Account (free right now).So I am going to write something about the analytics code today as I know many of you have read dozens of articles about them and still if one or two articles come along you can give your valuable time to that. ![]()
Starting off with Analytics , as it seems to me Analytics is made up of two words Analysis + Statistics which make it Analytics. So why did Google start Analytics when there were many out there present in the market giving out free service + paid service as well. Statscounter.com free service is used where websites have pageviews less than 250K per month and when it comes to tracking they have done a great job in tracking each detailed page views.
So as I was writing about the Analytics what is analytics and why do we need to track the Page Visits ? The answer is pretty simple when you do not know about your visitors then how can you update your site with content that can be viewed globally. You might think that your visitors come from your own country but when you have launched a website and it is coming in search terms then your website is bound to be visited from global IP’s and computers. By the usage of Google Analytics you can easily track the visits which your site got. The chapter of Urchin is very long just because it is not very easy to post in a single post about all of analytics code and its details. I would love to break it into many parts and then post it along.
The parts would be like this
- Some details about urchintracker
- Google Analytics Code Implementation
- Plugins that can be used to track Google Analytics
- Benefits of Google Analytics Code
I would be posting some more stuff very soon . Just stay in touch.
